Think about what you want to get out of the website. What are your goals?
Who are your competitors? We will do this as part of our process too but it's a good exercise for you to get ideas flowing.
Make a list, especially websites that are related to yours in some way, and think about why you like them. Is it the way they look, the way that they are organised, the information presented? What are their points of difference?
What resources do you already have that could be used on the website? These may include photos, brochures, product information or other promotional material. Remember, people are resources too. There will be a wealth of knowledge about your business, it's just a matter of extracting it and putting it in a form that can be used on the site.
